The fast recovery of travel and tourism in China was evidenced in 2020 October Golden Week holiday with 637 million tourist, follow by reassurance in 2021 May labor holiday with over 200 million tourist. According to statistics, the number is higher than 2019 where flight booking and hotel booking recorded a 100% increased. China is World's largest outbound source market and highest spender according to UNWTO.

2020年10月的中国黄金周假期创下了6.37亿游客,证明了中国旅业已恢复。随后在2021年5月的劳动假期中目睹了超过2亿游客的消费。据统计,这一数字高于2019年同期,其中航班预订和酒店预订录得100%的增长。根据联合国世界旅游组织(UNWTO) 的数据,中国是全球最大的出境客源市场。WTM中国旅游论坛由WTM London 牵手出境游网举办,在2021年11月1日,伦敦时间下午2点-3点于伦敦Excel London 举办。WTM中国旅游论坛主要讨论中国出境旅游市场,中国游客的需求变化,预计开放时间和市场前景等。 

This year, WTM London and China Travel Online joint hands to organize 2021 WTM China Tourism Forum, a high-level event which will take place on 1 November 2021 afternoon 1400-1500pm (London time), at WTM Global Stage, ExCel London. WTM China forum will discuss key issues including major changes in demographic, preferences, China Recovery and Reopening, the "New" Chinese travelers, market updates and what are the most cost effective ways to attract outbound travel trade and millions of Chinese visitors during and post pandemic. 

China Tourism Forum during WTM London will benefit destination and travel related business that are keen on attracting Chinese visitors.

Having also served as Minister for Tourism from April 2008 to March 2012, Hon. Balala holds the record of being the longest-serving Minister in the docket. Hon. Balala has been elected Chairman of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) twice, in 2011 and 2019, and he was the Chairperson of UNWTO Executive Council 2019-2020.
